Notes for MINNIE IDONA BATTON:

Written by Minnie Batton Gay from Clanton, AL, May 1, 1978:

The Terry Family, Of which I am an heir

I do not know which is the oldest.

My great grandmother KEZIA Terry, who came in a covered wagon from South Carolina.  She settled about seven miles west of Plantersville, Ala.  My grandmother Sarah Rebecca married a Pearson and his oldest daughter named after her is my mother.  She had four sons:  Abnar, Joe, William and Foster.  Uncle William went to the Civil War.  He never returned during her lifetime.  She worried he was killed or captured.  When I was a small child he came to Plantersville, Ala., asked the Postman where we lived and came to my mother's home.  After being with us awhile he went on to see others in Miss. and La.
